Sad Day

On Thursday, we buried my grandfather. It was a sad occasion. We used to visit my grandfather when we went to NJ. He always seemed glad to see us for a short visit. Joey thought he looked like Santa with his big belly. He always had some cookies or soad for the kids when we came. The last few times we saw him, he looked great. He had been going to a senior center and been involved in their activities. He was making friends and he didn't seem so lonely. Then he got sick. We thought he would be out of the hospital in a few days. It took longer. Then he couldn't go home. He needed rehab. We heard he had good and bad days. The day before he died we heard he was having a bad day. The next evening he passed away peacefully. I hope he went knowing he was loved. It was sad for us because my parents had been planning for him to come live here in Virginia. The kids and I had been preparing for that. There was/is a lot of family drama and hopefully things will get resolved peacefully without to may more hurt feeling. We loved my grandfather and will miss visiting with him but he will never leave our hearts or prayers.
