Memorial Day

Yesterday, Allen had off work. We went to the Viriginia Renaissaince Faire with my parents, Terri and Taylor. The kids had a lot of fun. Laura and Joey joined right in with the militia to help protect the Queen during the Queen's Parade. Then we heard some stories. The boys played a miniatures pirates game- 2 times. Joey won the second time and got a pirate hat that he is very happy about. Laura, my mom and Terri participated in some Maypole games. Laura won the race and was the youngest person this year to win it-also very proud!! They petted alpacas, horses and greyhounds. They watched people do archery, tell the Jack and the Beanstalk story and do some magic tricks. It was pretty fun.

Then we headed back to Terri and Nick's house for a bbq down at the lake. The kids went in the water by the boat slips and played. There was also a sand area they played in at the end, making sand castles and moats.

We had a good day together.
