Pumpkin Time
Yesterday the kids and I made it to Pumpkinville. We had a great time. It was cloudy and not so hot. We played in moon bounces, went down big slides, took a hay ride, climbed a tower, drank lots of apple cider, petted many animals and each picked out a small pumpkin. We started our adventure by going down the big slides. I went with Anthony and the other kids all raced each other down the slides. Then we went on the hay ride and the kids liked seeing all the different characters on the trail. Then we headed over to Fort Pumpkin where the kids climbed a tall haystack to reach the pirate flag on top. They did some rope swings and then climbed another tower that went down a slide also. We got cider to dring and then went down the big blow up slides and moon bounces. We saved the animal part for last. We went over to the petting zoo and bought the kids an ice cream cone filled with animal feed. They fed donkeys, goats, sheep, llamas and deer. The deer was very hungry and took Laura's cone right out of her hand. She wasn't too happy about that. Anthony thought it was funny and tickled for the animals to eat out of his hand. He liked petting the baby cow. It was very soft. Joey took his time with his food, handing out a piece or two at a time. Allen made sure to feed and pet every animal he could. He really enjoyed it. A kind stranger gave Allen a cup witht he rest of his unused food for Allen to give out. At the discovery tent everyone looked at antlers, snake skin and drew a picture of their hand and compared it to different animal footprints. We looked at how long different items take to decompose also. Then it was time to leave. We all got to pick out a small pumpkin which we will decorate next week. It was a lot of fun.
