Surprise-We're going to Six Flags

Thursday was homeschool day at Six Flags. Dh took off work and we never told the kids till yesterday morning after they woke up. A got a big grin, L was so excited jumping all around. So we headed off to begin our day. We have never been there so it was a new adventure. Parking was 15.00-yikes-didn't quite expect it That high! We had prepaid tickets and vouchers for lunch so that was great not dealing with that when we got there. There were various organizations along main street so I got a few minutes to look at those. Some of those places have fall homeschool days all set already. We headed for the kiddie section. The first thing we all did was ride the merry go round together. A is getting to tall for most of the kiddie rides but is not so adventurous as to be ready for the "big" kid rides so that was alittle tricky. Luckily we found a few in the kid section he could do and enjoyed. One of the favorite parts was a prop town full of soft balls that you could shoot and throw at people. Me and dh thought it was too loud but all the kids loved it. A's favorite was the kid roller coaster, L's was a little drop ride, J's was walking around Gotham city. They also liked riding the teacup over and over. It was a fun great family day!! We stayed till it closed at 5 and stopped for dinner so we hoped to avoid to much traffic. We got home and sh went straight to bed. The kids were wound up so we went outside to catch fireflies and enjoy the night air for a short time.
