Halloween

We started off our day by doing school work, going to Adoration and buying candy to give out. Then we came home and had a quick hot chocolate/muffin(Allen made) time together. We played a game of soccer in the back yard. Anthony kept asking if it was Halloween time yet. Laura and I made a pumpkin pie(something I try to do every Halloween). We made pizza for dinner(another tradition). Then we realized that it was still light at 6:00. The kids got on their costumes and stayed in the front yard waiting to see other trick-or-treaters ready to go. Finally the kids were able to start their evening. They ran next door to our neighbors first(they are friendly with the kids and were happy to see them!) Then Allen took all 4 kids around the neighborhood, while I gave out candy. They did the outer loop and then came back for a drop off of candy. Anthony decided to stay and help me give it out for awhile. Everyone thought he was so cute putting candy in their bags. The other kids and Allen did the inner loop and came back again. Then they decided to go across the street, so Anthony said he needed more candy and went with them. Our one neighbor, had a small scary setup in their garage but nothing compared to what they usually do, so the kids weren't scared. Joey was a Black Spiderman, Laura a VA Tech cheerleader and Allen wore a black graduation gown, covering his head some. Anthony had so many choices for dress up, he finally decided to go as Pooh. I like going in our neighborhood, as we know many of the kids and it's fun to see and talk to them as well as the comfort of familiarity.
They got lots of candy as usual and had fun. They only ate a few pieces and were done at 8. We had a few more kids after that but it was over by 8:30. My 3 younger kids were asleep by 9:15. All that walking must have worn them out!

Looks like the kids got alot of treats. Hope they didn't eat all that candy at once.
