All Saints Party and Play

Last night was our homeschool groups annual All Saints Party(yes, a little late but that is ok!) The night started with a buffet. Everyone brought a meal and drinks to share. After that we got ready to see a play. Laura, along with 14 other children aged 7-9, have been practicing twice a week for the last 2 months for a play- "The Little Engine That Could". The kids all worked hard and it was a great performance. Laura dressed as a bunny. She was one of the toys. It was great to see the kids all work together and how far they had all come. The trains made out of boxes were so cute and the kids all looked adorable. It was a short play but just right for the kids of this age. After the play, the games began. The first game was the annual "Guess Who I Am?" The kids who wanted to participate all took a turn at the microphone and gave a clue or two. This year Anthony was dressed as "St. Anthony". He went up on stage with Laura but didn't talk. Laura was St. Elizabeth of Hungary(her favorite saint and it so happened to be her feast day as well!) And Joey went as Saint Peter as a fisherman with a net. Allen didn't dress up this year. They games were all Saint related and hand made from people. Another game was St. Cecilia's Musical Chairs. At the games the kids received tokens to turn in to "buy" different items. The kids got some paddle balls, a Mary nightlight, a few little statues, a votive candle, and (Laura's favorite) a little bracelet. At the end of the night the kids each received a paper bag with candy and a Holy Card. As usual the night was a lot of fun and brings good feelings for everyone.
