"Healthy Habits for a New Year"

The last day of 2007. How quickly time flies. This has been a good year for our family. Yesterday, we all had tea time together and discussed some upcoming goals for the new year. Over at 4reallearning.com, there has been talk about themes for the new year. I think our theme is going to be "Healthy Habits". We want to do this in different areas:

Prayer:
I want to do the rosary daily (and hope to do a decade a day with the kids)
Morning/ Evening prayers
Weekly Adoration(continue with kids)
Monthly Confession(continue)

Eating:
More meals from scratch
Less eating out
Less snack foods
Less sugary food and drinks
More natural, whole grain foods
Drink more water
Plan menus 2 weeks at a time(to coincide with shopping)

Health/drs.
Exercise more(everyone)
More outside time
Get vision checked
Brushing teeth
bedtime

Family time
more time together
weekly game night
less tv/computer(limited amount or it will have to go)
more read alouds
tea time(continue)

Kindness:
less yelling
doing good deeds for one another
respecting others belongings
collecting money for poor box
patience for one another

Household:
Everyone pitches in for chores
Routines
Monthly project(ie: painting, tile, doors, etc.)
Declutter( a slow but necessary project in every room)

Budget:
No extra spending
Plan classes and trips in advance
Less driving
Menus and less eating out and less snacks should help with food budget

Homeschooling
Plan subjects in advance
Everyday, consistency
Goals for each kid for rest of school year


Well, tomorrow is a New Year!
