Allen's Special Day
Saturday was a special day for Allen also. He received his Arrow of Light award in cubscouts. It is the highest Cub Scout rank you can get. He worked very hard to get it. We are very proud of him. The Blue and Gold cermony Saturday night went very well. Usually these nights drag on and on, but this time it went fairly quickly(still 2 1/2 hours). The skits were funny and well done. Dinner was really good and went fast. We made a hamburger tater tot casserole to take. The last event was the Arrow of Light ceremony. They truned down the lights and the den chief lit candles and they told what each one meant. They had soft Indian music playing in the background. Allen stood behind Allen while we were at a table in the front. They each got an arrow that they had made at a previous meeting and we were all told what each band of color stood for. Allen has been in this group since he was a Tiger Cub. 3 of the boys are moving on to the same Boy Scout troop(the crossover is next week). It was a little emotional event. We are so happy for Allen.
