Doctors Visit

Yesterday Joey had a recheck at the Children's Heart Clinic. When he was a baby he was diagnosed with an innocent heart murmur. It had been 2 years since his last checkup. This time he was 39 lbs. and 44 inches tall. They did an EKG, which they said was fine. He did well lying there, although he didn't care much for the stickies, it was over fairly quickly. Then came time for the ultrasound. The dr. spent a lot of time looking which was making me a little nervous. The kids were quite excellent sitting there. The dr, said that she did see something that is a concern. Apparently, Joey has a problem with one of his aortic valves. At this time it is not a problem but it can be down in the future. There are no restrictions or medications or anything else at this time. But it will require more visits. She wants us to go back every 6 months. The way his valve closes is not working perfectly but it is doing the job for now. It is a lot to think and pray about.
