We really like to do science experiments around here. Some of our favorite topics include weather, volcanoes, and water experiments. This year we tried to set up a display day with our homeschool group. Only one family was able to participate so we met at my house and the kids shared what they had done. Allen showed his tornado picture, experiment and shared facts he had learned. His favorite facts had to do with wind speeds and just how dangerous tornadoes can be. He also showed an experiment with dew and frost and his volcano. Laura showed what she learned about color mixing and primary and secondary colors. She also had a picture and an experiment to share. Joey was interested in rock collections. My dad had given him a sheet of small rocks to share. He learned that some rocks are made from fire and that some are soft and some are hard. The other family that came had their daughter do a project on the butterfly lifecycle so she had pictures to share of each stage. It was simple but fun. My kids liked showing off what they had been working on. We will make more time for the kids to work on experiments and then to show to their dad or others interested.
