Day Two

This morning, Laura, Joey and I got up at 4:00 to watch the meteor show. We bundled up and went outside for about 30 minutes. We did see some meteors and it was pretty cool but then we decided to head back inside back to bed. We woke up late and Allen made us all french toast for breakfast. Then we started our circle time. We said prayers, shared a few things and then started with learning Latin. This year, we are going to try Prima Latina and use it to teach us all some basic Latin. It came with a teacher's manual, a cd, and a workbook. Then we went on to math, learning the different names of angles and trying them out on a game and on paper. Next was English, where we reviewed a noun is a place and drew a picture and talked about examples. Allen did more Colonial History. Laura and Joey ancient times. They all read and learned about the moon, Galileo, and the first astronauts on the moon. For writing, they wrote the same sentences as yesterday. Laura and Allen both read their Ben Franklin books and Joey read more from Dick and Jane. It was another good day. We also went to the playground again today and the kids played with some other kids there for a short time.
